Offering a Choice of 4* and 5* Lodges
The Karongwe Private Game Reserve is a 9,000 hectare private game reserve, just 45 minutes from the world-famous Kruger National Park. Home to the Big 5 of the African bush (lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant), morning and afternoon game drives with experienced rangers and trackers take guests on a voyage of discovery.
Guests may also see cheetah, spotted and brown hyena, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, kudu, impala and bushbuck to name a few of the many other 40 wildlife species to be found here. Hippo and crocodiles are often spotted along the river banks.
There are also over 365 different bird species.
The game vehicles are also allowed to go off road in search of the big cats, adding to the excitement of a game drive. Nothing quite beats driving through the bush to find a pride of lion relaxing under the shade of a tree!
The lodges in the reserve offer guests the opportunity to either relax in 4* or 5* luxury, or experience an authentic African safari under canvas. In between game drives and bush walks, all the lodges have a pool where guests can relax around and soak up the African sun.
