Klaserie Game Reserve
The Klaserie Game Reserve was established in 1972 as part of the Greater Kruger National Park and is one of the largest private reserves in South Africa at 60,000 hectares. This vast tract of preserved land has some beautiful trees and riverine vegetation near the magnificent Klaserie River. It has an open fenceless border to the Kruger National Park in the north, and the Timbavati to the south-east.
This river is a mecca for a vast array of wildlife which includes the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino). At the river, you may see large herds of elephant and buffalo as well as many hippo pods. The Klaserie Reserve also offers a diverse habitat, from flat plains to rocky outcrops to hilly landscapes. Here you’ll encounter a wonderful supporting cast of giraffe, zebra, warthogs, hyena and many antelope species.
Flanking a large dam (reservoir) in the southern Klaserie Private Nature Reserve, Simbavati Waterside was designed and built to be a natural extension of the abundant beauty and wilderness of the surrounding bush.
Accommodation consists of 2 water-facing Luxury Suites and 4 Family Suites (with two interleading bedrooms), while the 2 bush-facing Luxury Suites have a private deck and small private KolKol tub (heated by a gas-fire in winter). Each of the suites has kingsize bed (convertible to twin), an en-suite bathroom with shower, double vanity wash basisn and separate toilet, a dressing area with ample storage space, and a game viewing deck and outdoor shower.
Breakfast and lunch are served daily outside on the main wooden deck, set out under age-old jackalberry and leadwood trees, combining African and Western cuisine offering exciting new tastes for the more adventurous as well as for the more conventional preferences. A traditional dinner is served around the campfire in an open-air boma, an experience not to be missed.
Main guest facilities include a swimming pool, an open air boma (for dinner under the stars), wine cellar, lounge, bar, spa, gym, and safari boutique. Simbavati Watersides sophisticated decor, sublime cuisine, and intuitive hospitality enhance an already-outstanding safari experience.

Children Policy
Children of all ages are welcome. Children aged 6 years and upwards are allowed to participate in the shared adult game drives. If you wish for your younger children to join you, you will need to take a private vehicle at an extra cost - subject to availability of vehicles.

Directions For Drivers
As you exit the Airport, turn left for Klaserie Game Reserve onto Argyle Road. Continue until you reach the Enkhulu control gate of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve. Please note that continuous cell phone reception ends here.
At the gate, you will be required to pay an entrance fee in cash (this changes on a yearly basis). This gate is open from 06:00 to 18:00.
From Enkhulu Gate (Timbavati gate), drive on the tar road for 10.7 km. Turn left at the Simbavati Waterside signboard.
Drive on the gravel road for 1.8 km go right at the fork In another 0.3 km, you will arrive at the lodge.
General Information For Guests
The 2 water-facing Luxury Suites have a kingsize bed (convertible to twin beds on request), an en-suite bathroom with shower, double vanity, and separate toilet, and a dressing area with ample storage space. These suites have a game viewing deck and outdoor shower.
The 4 Two-Bedroom Luxury Suites are also water-facing and have a kingsize bed (convertible to twin beds on request) in the main bedroom, and twin beds (convertible to kingsize) in the second bedroom. There is an open-plan main en-suite bathroom with bath and interconnected indoor and outdoor rain-showers, double vanity and separate toilet, and a second separate en-suite bathroom with indoor rain-shower and toilet. These suites have a game viewing deck and outdoor shower.
The 2 bush-facing Luxury Suites have a KolKol tub (an outdoor wood-fired tub that can be used both hot and cold) and a kingsize bed (convertible to twin beds on request). There is an en-suite bathroom with shower, double vanity, and separate toilet, and a dressing area with ample storage space. These suites have a game viewing deck and outdoor shower.
The main main lodge has a bar and restaurant, a lounge area with books and board games, and a deck with expansive views of the dam.
The lodge has an open air boma and camp-fire overlooking the dam.
Other facilities include a wine cellar, spa, gym, and safari boutique.
There is complimentary Wi-Fi in rooms and in main guest areas.
The lodge offers transfers to Eastgate/Hoedspruit Airport transfers at set times - these are on request and must be pre-booked.
