Karongwe Private Game Reserve

Chisomo Safari Camp Location Map

Chisomo Safari Camp overlooks the Makutswe River, tucked deep in the 9,000 hectare fenced Karongwe Game Reserve.

The reserve is home to Africa's Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino and elephant) as well as a wealth of other creatures. Morning and evening game drives are in open Land Rovers, which are perfect for game viewing and offers some truly wonderful photographic opportunities. There are also over 365 different bird species.

Game drives are conducted with qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers, who will share their vast experience of the African bush.

Guests enjoy dinners at the luxuriously furnished, thatched guest areas overlooking the river and the bush, or a traditional braai located at a specially created bush dinner site where traditional dishes are served under the stars. Sitting chatting with your fellow guests and listening to the sounds of the bush come alive at night is a lovely way to round of an exciting day of safari adventures.

The pool is a lovely area to relax around in between game drives, and to cool off from the hot African sun.

Chisomo Safari Camp features 22 safari tents, set in the African bushveld, under majestic apple leaf, jackalberry and tamboti trees.

All tents, with en-suite bathrooms, are facing the beautiful Makhutswe River and wildlife can be viewed from the decks as it emerges from the reeds for grazing. Kudu, nyala and bushbuck are as common a sight as elephant and even the elusive leopard.

All tents have a mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities.
