Summary Of The Route and Costs
Extraordinary is the perfect description for this 5* safari holiday. Luxuriate in a Relais & Chateaux game lodge, sleeping in a luxury thatched safari chalet with its very own private plunge pool in the heart of the African bush. Enjoy exploring Cape Town from an iconic hotel which has hosted royalty and celebrities, stay in one of Sir Richard Branson's favourite properties in the heart of the Winelands, stand at the very tip of the African continent, and end with a stay in a treetop suite set amidst an ancient enchanting forest, from where you can easily explore South Africa's celebrated Garden Route.
You begin with 3 nights at Founders Camp, in the famous Londolozi Game Reserve. Game drives at Londolozi are taken by professional, passionate and knowledgeable rangers and trackers. With over 16,000 hectares of traversing wilderness, no 2 game drives are ever the same. Trackers sit up at the front of the Land Rover looking for fresh animal tracks, while rangers drive with astonishing skill into ravines and through thicket in pursuit of elusive animals, simultaneously wowing guests with their outstanding knowledge and unforgettable stories.
You then fly down to Cape Town and stay at the iconic Mount Nelson, which has been captivating visitors since 1899. Nestled between the slopes of Table Mountain and the vibrant city, when you step through the gates, you enter a world of relaxation and glamour. Take a timeless tea on the terrace and stroll through storied gardens, or starbathe beneath clear skies with a cocktail in hand. With pioneering gastronomy with local roots and close collaboration with South Africa’s creative community, the 'Nellie' has a vintage heart and innovative spirit.
You will then head off to the Winelands. Mont Rochelle is a stunning boutique hotel and vineyard just under an hour’s drive from Cape Town in the town of Franschhoek. Franschhoek is a traditional vineyard town in the Western Cape Province famously known as the French Corner of the Cape and is considered to be the food and wine capital of South Africa. Mont Rochelle's own vineyard cultivates grapes of the Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon varieties amongst a few others, and wine tastings can be arranged to sample their wines.
You then visit Swellendam - the 3rd oldest town in South Africa but also an ideal stop to break the otherwise long journey. From here you can take a day trip down to the official meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans at Cape Agulhas - and enjoy standing at the very southern most point of the entire African continent
Finally you end with 3 nights on the Garden Route. The perfect place to relax at the end of your trip, Tsala is a magical place, encircled by lush forests extending across rolling valleys, towards the distant hills. Staying in your own private elevated hideaway is romantic and adventurous, along with its perfect location in the heart of the Garden Route.
