Cape Town and Shamwari Safari

Summary Of The Route and Costs

This is a classic Cape experience, starting at a 5* hotel situated in the heart of the vibrant and buzzy Victoria & Alfred Waterfront in Cape Town and ending at a secluded and luxurious tented safari lodge in the award-winning Shamwari Game Reserve in the malaria-free Eastern Cape.

The elegant Victoria & Alfred Hotel is known for its friendly and efficient service which never feels too intrusive. Your Mountain-Facing Room offers inspiring views over the ever-awake Alfred Basin and majestic Table Mountain. Walk to some of the finest retail outlets and designer stores, visit the many restaurants for dinner, shop in the craft markets, or take a boat cruise to Robben Island or a sunset cruise around the harbour.

Your hire car will be delivered on Day 3, enabling you to explore the wonderful Cape a bit further afield.

You then fly across to Port Elizabeth for your safari - the flight takes just over an hour. Leaving Cape Town late morning, you will be ensconced in your luxurious safari tented suite by early afternoon, all unpacked and ready to depart on your first afternoon game drive across the hills and plains of the Shamwari Game Reserve.

Shamwari is known for its animal conservation efforts and is home to the all-important Big 5. Every dawn and dusk, you'll set off into the bushland on the lookout for wildlife. Bayethe Lodge is a tented safari paradise that allows you to immerse yourself in complete luxury and tranquility, surrounded by rich vegetation that provides privacy and a feeling of seclusion with spectacular views of the African bush. In between game drives, relax on your private deck and take a dip in your private plunge pool. In the cooler winter months, snuggle up around the indoor fireplace.
