Notten's Bush Camp

Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Days 1 - 4: Sabi Sand Game Reserve

Notten's Bush Camp Location Map

Notten's Bush Camp is one of the best-kept secrets of the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve. This friendly and informal family-run lodge is one of the original game lodges in South Africa and offers a blend of luxury and comfort, balanced with the sheer simplicity and natural atmosphere of the bush.

The game viewing is exceptional, including lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, hyena and hippo, as well as many species of antelope. The lodge will try to put only 6 people on each vehicle for game drives so you can fully experience the enchantment of the bush as day breaks from the vantage point of your open Land Rover.

After a hearty breakfast back on the deck where cheeky monkey and inquisitive birds hope for a crumb or two, enjoy a guided walk or laze by the sparkling pool, enjoy a spa treatment, or simply relax in the cool shade of the wooden veranda overlooking the plains.

Cultural tours can also be arranged into the local Shangaan community to get an insight into their rural way of life and culture.

After a superb afternoon tea, return to the wilderness of the savanna to view abundant wildlife and honour the setting sun with a traditional sundowner. Back at the lodge, a delicious evening meal is served around a communal table in the open-air boma under the Milky Way, surrounded by lanterns and candlelight. After dinner, find a spot by the fire and listen to the sounds and share your days adventures.

With no electric lights in the room, candles and lanterns cast an ambient light to the elegantly styled chalets after sunset. Each of the 9 chalets has its own private wooden deck with a beautiful view of the bush, and en-suite bathroom with both indoor and outdoor showers.

Along with the warmth and hospitality of your hosts and the experienced rangers and trackers who ensure their guests have an enlightening exposure to the magnificent and unrivalled wildlife of the area, the result is an unforgettable and romantic bush experience.

David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa

Victoria Falls - Zambia

Days 5 - 7: Victoria Falls - Zambia

David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa Location Map

Situated on the banks of the mighty Zambezi River overlooking the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, and just 7 km from the Victoria Falls, the 5* David Livingstone Safari Lodge & Spa offers world class facilities in a tranquil setting.

Entering the lodge guests are magically transported back to the pioneering adventures of the early European explorers, where you can savour the true elegance of a bygone era.  Design and decor is quintessentially colonial varied with elements of raw stone, wood and earth, and accented by shades of gold, bronze, copper and ivory, all once traded on ancient Arab routes. A hint of Zanzibar decor adds the alluring spice colours of the orient.

The David Livingstone Camelot Spa looks over the stunning panorama of the Victoria Falls, and offers a wide variety of therapeutic and beauty therapies and treatments. There is also an infinity swimming pool, which flows into the Zambezi River.

The lodge has its own beautiful river cruiser, the Lady Livingstone, which is moored alongside the hotel, offering daily sundowner cruises.

Guests can dine at either the Kalai Restaurant situated in the main lodge next to the reception area, which offers Afro-Arabian fusion food, or at the Gwembe Terrace - a casual meeting place, where guests can sit back, relax and watch the magnificent African sunset while sipping on cocktails and tucking into the local dishes. The Ujiji Bar is where guests can enjoy a wide selection of South African and international wines, as well as choose from a variety of unique cocktails created by the skilled bar butlers.

There are 77 rooms and suites in total, all en-suite. Most rooms look out over the mighty Zambezi River and have a private balcony, offering the same serene views that once captivated David Livingstone, the intrepid explorer and missionary who was the first European to set eyes on the Falls.
