Lapalala Reserve

Tintswalo at Lapalala Wilderness Location Map

Tintswalo at Lapalala Wilderness is a family-friendly camp, and can accommodate up to 12 adults and 4 children right in the heart of the raw African bushveld.

The camp itself is based in the Lapalala Wilderness Reserve, which covers some 50,000 hectares and is home to the Big 5 and other various game.

As there are only 2 commercial lodges on the entire reserve there are very few vehicles, making it one of the most undisturbed safari destinations within the region. The experienced guides and trackers ensure that guests have a high quality and varied wilderness experience.

The reserve is also known for its research and breeding programs of rare and endangered species, as well as the environmental education programme it delivers to school communities from around South Africa.

Guests of Tintswalo at Lapalala are welcome to engage with the environmental activities of the Lapalala Wilderness by visiting the breeding projects, participating in the school programme, visiting the nearby Rhino Museum, or by enjoying peaceful hours of fishing on one of the reserve’s many rivulets and deep, still pools.

The camp consists of 4 luxury tented suites, 2 super luxury tented suites and 1 double family suite. The tents also have their own private plunge pools, overlooking a large plain with a watering hole that is frequently visited by wildlife.

The main lounge provides a warm atmosphere, and is surrounded on one side by a large relaxation deck, where guests are invited to take a refreshing dip in the lodge’s crystalline swimming pool as they watch herds of game wander by.
