Hwange National Park

The Hide Location Map

Situated on a private concession on the Eastern boundary of the Hwange National Park with stunning views across a natural waterhole, The Hide has earned a reputation over the years for delivering both an exceptional wildlife experience and offering a top hospitality service to its guests.

Hwange was once the royal hunting ground of Ndebele kings, and the Park itself has long been known for its abundant and diverse wildlife - in particular, the herds of elephant and buffalo numbering in the hundreds. This is also one of the best places to see lion, leopard and African wild dog among the hundred or so other mammal and 400 bird species.

Whether on a morning or afternoon drive to one of Hwange's game-rich pans, exploring on foot within the private concession, spending time in the underground hide at the waterhole, going on a night drive to experience the noctural wildlife activity, or sleeping out in the romantic Dove’s Nest tree house overlooking a pan where giraffe and elephants commonly come to drink, there is never a dull moment.

The Hide has 10 comfortable and spacious en-suite deluxe tents, including 2 family tents. The tents are fan cooled for your comfort in summer and have extra warm blankets and hot water bottles for the cool winter months. Each tent has a private veranda from where guests may be entertained by the comings and goings of a large variety of game at the waterhole. One tent is wheelchair friendly, and the family tents can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children in full-size beds.

The Private Hide is an 'exclusive use' option, where guests (including children of any age) stay in up to 3 or 4 of The Hide’s adjacent deluxe tents, depending on numbers. The Private Hide features private dining and lounging areas, a plunge pool, and the services of a private guide and vehicle.

Tom's Little Hide is a beautifully authentic safari house set just along from The Hide main camp. Accommodating up to 6 adults and 4 children of any age in 3 large adjacent rooms which have waterhole views, a booking here includes private dining, a private splash pool, and your own guide and vehicle, in order for you to take full advantage of all the activities at your own pace. With no worries about intruding on other guests, Tom’s Little Hide offers the opportunity to really let go and relax.
