General Information For Guests
Each chalet is fitted with insect proof window screens, eco-friendly solar lighting, and a secure safe. All chalets have a private balcony with forest views. The family/honeymoon chalet, in addition to all of the above, also features a separate lounge room with open fire place. The well-appointed and roomy en-suite bathrooms have a flush toilet and a rain shower with a copious supply of hot water. Some chalets also have a bath tub.
Hot beverages are available throughout the day on a self service basis, but are delivered to your chalet with early morning wake up calls if required.
The open air lounge, dining and bar areas offers interrupted views.
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available.
The spa treatment room is available to all overnight lodge guests who are entitled to a complimentary massage by the trained in-house masseuse. The lodge also offers a complimentary laundry and hiking-boot cleaning service, all invaluable after a day of gorilla trekking!
Solar power is used for lighting and power points which are hence limited to the central area for recharging electronic equipment.
A curio shop is on site with a range of locally made crafts.
Kihihi Airstrip is approximately a 1.5 to 2 hour drive from the lodge, depending on road conditions.
Activities (cost on request) include mountain gorilla tracking, forest walks in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, bird watching in the forest with local qualified guides, birding around the lodge, guided community walks through the local village, visits to the Bwindi Community Hospital, visits to the Batwa Pygmy tribe to learn more about their unique culture, visits to the local orphanage and school, curio shopping in the village, and visiting the Ride 4 a Woman project - womens’ empowerment programme was started as a bicycle rental project run by local women, and has expanded to include basket weaving, sewing projects and lessons in traditional cooking for visitors.
