A KHOSLA
A fabulous experience and a great start to the holiday proper. They do a great job making the game drives truly memorable and the staff are all so very friendly and helpful. Our room suite was lovely and the setting superb overlooking a waterhole.
M VINER
Fantastic place and suite. Great game drives and ranger Milo.

Shamwari Game Reserve: Long Lee Manor. The best! What an experience! Maybe 2 nights would have been enough as we had seen the Big 5 on our first 4 game drives. If we hadn't we would have wanted more but the last 2 drives were very much a repeat of the first 4 drives. Julius, our ranger, was fabulous.

An excellent experience with superb food and accommodation. The safari experience was 'second to none' from start to finish - I did not want it to end! You handled the booking with excellence (and we got a free upgrade to a suite!!). We cannot thank you, your staff and the staff at Long Lee Manor enough.
B SMITH
Shamwari absolutely wonderful as always.
B LEEN
The holiday was fantastic so thank you so much for organising. Shamwari - seriously do not think there is anything we could fault - the whole thing was fantastic and we were spoilt rotten - it was just lovely - highly recommend to anyone and worth every penny! La Petite Ferme - The accommodation was amazing - it was very private and therefore very nice for a couple who wanted to relax towards the end of the holiday. Thanks so much for pulling everything together we were really happy with Travel Butlers and the whole thing was so unstressful - a big thank you and I would definitely be happy to use your service again.
C DIEMER
Long Lee Manor at Shamwari also hit the right note. The 'wow' factor for us were the drives and location. The accomodation was as expected. The organisation and service was very efficient.
P WILLIAMS
I can only say a huge thank you, it met and generally exceeded all our expectations and the accommodation was simply perfect. Each stage had so much to offer but Shamwari was outstanding. Thank you again we will remember our trip for ever.
C LINES
We got back Tuesday - everything was wonderful. We really enjoyed staying at Cape Grace Hotel ... the standard was exceptional - food, rooms, staff all fantastic. Shamwari was amazing - saw all the animals we expected to see ... our grandchildren were thrilled. So thank you for arranging everything for us - it went very smoothly.

In collaboration with the Born Free Foundation, the Big Cat Rescue and Education Centres are situated within the game reserve. They aim to draw attention to the plight of wild cats, confined in impoverished, captive environments throughout the world. It is the mission of The Born Free Foundation, founded by actress and conservationist Virginia McKenna and her late husband Bill Travers, to ‘Keep Wildlife in the Wild’. Both Shamwari and Born Free aim to promote conservation and protect these species and their habitat, whilst maintaining a compassionate approach to the welfare of animals. The rescue and education centres home rescued lions and leopards from across the world and aim to be an enlightening experience for all visitors.
You also have the opportunity to visit the Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre when you visit Shamwari Private Game Reserve. The Centre helps to rescue, rehabilitate and care for sick, injured, abandoned or orphaned animals under the care of professional veterinary team. Once these animals have been nursed back to health, they are released back into their natural habitat. Part of this experience is Vulpro - a unique captive breeding centre and the only one of its kind in Africa. Injured vulture species that can’t fly will breed in captivity and the healthy young are released back into the wild.
A compulsory Conservation Levy has been included in your rate - this contribution will aid conservation efforts as well as the anti-poaching unit.
There is an electric perimeter fence around the property.
Bush Walks / Walking Safaris
Children under the age of 16 years are not permitted on guided walks in the reserve. Guests over 65 wishing to join a guided walk are required to have a letter or certificate from their doctor confirming they are in good health and are physically fit to do the walk. A guided walk can last a couple of hours and involve walking over uneven terrain that may contain dangerous wildlife in potentially high temperatures. Guests may need to move quickly and for a sustained period through rough bush terrain if instructed to do so by their guide.
Regardless of age or the provision of a doctors certificate, the final decision on whether a guest can join a guided walk remains with the guide and lodge manager.
