Nature lovers will be enchanted with the beautiful fynbos which attracts a wide variety of birds and butterflies. Over 80 species of birds have been identified here, including the Cape Sugarbird, several species of Sunbird, and the rare Victorin's Warbler.

The natural swimming pool for those who just want to relax and enjoy the beauty of nature.

The fully equipped self-catering cottages offer 2 bedrooms, full bathrooms, a fine kitchen, and spacious living area. All the master bedrooms have their own fireplace, and French doors opening onto a north-facing private patio. They are serviced daily.

There is also a studio/apartment suitable for 2 guests, which is situated on the first floor of a traditional Cape Dutch styled house with its own separate entrance and a balcony with barbecue from which to appreciate the uninterrupted view.

Directions For Drivers

From Cape Town/Hermanus/The Winelands/Swellendam/Wilderness/Knysna: Follow the N2 to Plettenberg Bay. Approximately 23 km after you have left Knysna, and before you reach Plettenberg Bay, you will see a brown national road sign on the left-hand side of the road with Fynbos Ridge (with a picture of a bed). 200m AFTER the sign, turn left into the entrance and follow the signs to Fynbos Ridge and office.

From Port Elizabeth (now renamed Gqeberha): Take the N2 to Plettenberg Bay. Do not take any of the turn-offs into Plettenberg Bay. Approximately 7 km past Plettenberg Bay you will see a brown national road sign on the left-hand side of the road with Fynbos Ridge (with a picture of a bed). 200m AFTER the sign, turn right into the entrance and follow the signs to Fynbos Ridge and office.

General Information For Guests

The self-catering accommodation at Fynbos Ridge consists of 1 studio apartment & 3 two-bedroom cottages. Each spacious cottage is well equipped, has two bathrooms, and sleeps up to 5 people. The studio apartment is a spacious (70 sq. metres) north facing studio/apartment suitable for two guests.

Although the cottages and studio apartment are fully equipped for self-catering, breakfasts and dinners are available by arrangement in the Country House. Meals can also be supplied to the cottages.

Over 85 species of birds visit the property, and guests are invited to stroll around and explore the gardens which are home to many varieties of protea flower.

The Garden Route is well known for exquisite bird life, forest walks and whale watching.
