Experience some of South Africa's magnificent scenery on this 11 night luxurious trip. Starting at the majestic Twelve Apostle mountain range, you spend 5 nights in glitzy Camps Bay in Cape Town, before boarding your 'moving' 5* hotel-on-wheels - the Blue Train - for a 2 night journey which trundles through breath-taking scenery as you head towards Pretoria. You end by flying into your safari destination, getting a birds-eye view of the undulating landscape and wildlife that is the Madikwe Game Reserve.
The Bay Hotel boasts an unrivalled location in the heart of Camps Bay. After a busy day seeing Cape Town's world-class sights, exhale and relax with a sunset cocktail, a treatment in the on-site spa or some time lounging around one of 4 sea-facing pools. Or if all that sounds too demanding, retreat to your Premier Room to gaze out at the beach and do absolutely nothing at all.
You then head to the railway station to board your unforgettable journey on the Blue Train - the ultimate in luxury rail travel. On this train luxury assumes a new dimension. You’ll feel it from the moment you step into your Luxury Suite, or sample the world class cuisine complemented by a fine selection of wines carefully sourced from vineyard boutiques in South Africa.
Your final destination is the Madikwe Game Reserve - a 75,000 hectare malaria-free reserve located northwest of Johannesburg. Everything about this place is vast - its landscapes, its heavens, its wildlife. This is rugged Africa at its very best. Madikwe's animal population includes lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo, cheetah, spotted hyena, giraffe, antelope and the endangered Cape hunting dog. In excess of 300 resident and migrant bird species tint the ample skies.
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport clear customs and immigration and collect your luggage. Make your way to the Arrivals Hall where your driver will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Camps Bay.
