Pilanesberg National Park
Built high on a hilltop and overlooking the savanna plains and a waterhole, the luxurious Tshukudu Bush Lodge offers sweeping views of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park, which is home to over 7,000 animals including the Big 5, giraffe, hippo, zebra, jackal, hyena and many antelope, and over 350 bird species. Morning and afternoon guided game drives take guests into the Pilanesberg reserve. All game activities are conducted by experienced field guides. Guided bush walks are also an option.
Tshukudu is renowned for its tranquillity. The lodge facilities do not include radios, telephones or TVs, so guests can really cut themselves off from the outside world and truly enjoy the peace and quiet of the African bush.
Nestled in the centre of the lodge is an intimate and quiet plunge pool with umbrellas, pool towels and a barman on standby.
Tshukudu's cuisine has a strong African influence, and is prepared to 5* standards. Breakfast is served on the deck, where you can enjoy either a continental buffet or order a hot breakfast. High Tea is served just before the afternoon game drive and consists of something sweet and savoury to see guests through until dinner. Dinner can be enjoyed on the main deck, in the intimate dining room, or around the fire, and the chef will present his 5 course menu, of which you can expect a different dining experience every evening. A splendid selection of wines provides the perfect accompaniment.
With only 6 luxury chalets and 4 suites, Tshukudu offers a romantic and intimate experience at the foot of the Pilanesberg mountains, with expansive views of the Savannah Plains below. Relax in your open plan lounge and watch the game wander lazily through the bush, towards the waterhole located below the lodge.
At night, after dinner, take a short walk back to your private chalet and watch the stars traverse the African sky and listen for the distant roar of lions.

Just to say our safari worked out very well and Tshukudu Bush Lodge was well worth a stay. We had a great ranger called Howard who took us on our first drives and we saw some wonderful animals. Bakubung Bush Lodge was also good and when we went on our own drives we were very fortunate to see some close up sights of animals including three lionesses that killed a wildebeest.

Thank you so very much for suggesting and arranging the Tshukudu Bush Lodge and Bakubung Bush Lodge . The first was absolutely fabulous and our guide Howard a real gem. Neil from the Lodge also helped us out with our walking safari yesterday morning before we flew home. After Howard we went on self drive round the park and we saw so much game... 3 lionesses bringing down a wildebeest, a leopard (two different days, cheetah, baby hippo with adults, white and black rhino and of course the zebra giraffes, warthogs, waterbucks, springboks etc- we were just spoilt. Thank so much. Our three days were a lifetime's worth of treasure.
