Nestled on the banks of a seasonal river in the 23,000 hectare Manyeleti Game Reserve, which adjoins the Kruger National Park, Tintswalo is a small lodge offering ultimate adventure, beauty, luxury, and unequalled hospitality and cuisine.

With no fences separating Manyeleti from Kruger and the neighbouring reserves of Sabi Sand and Timbavati, a huge variety of wildlife roams freely over more than 2 million hectares of African bush. Morning and evening game tracking drives in open vehicles bring you into close contact with the Big 5 (lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino) for an unforgettable safari experience.

The exquisitely appointed main lodge overlooks a waterhole frequented by a large herd of elephant and other big game.

The Vital Source Spa specialises in hands-on treatment for both men and women, and is the perfect way to relax after a day in the bush or to remove the last vestiges of city stress from body and mind.

In the evening, guests can enjoy unique dining venues such as in the romantic candle-lit wine cellar or outside under the star-studded African sky. The wine cellar and well-stocked bar complete the full dining experience.

Tintswalo Safari Lodge comprises of 6 luxurious suites and one Presidential Suite individually decorated in the style of 19th century explorers. Each suite enjoys a private plunge pool and deck overlooking a seasonal river where a variety of game comes to water daily.

The indoor/outdoor shower leads off from the spacious bathroom which opens out onto the deck. The suites are all air-conditioned, and also have overhead fans and mosquito netting.

The suites are all linked to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways.

Rates Include

All meals; tea/coffee; drinks (soft drinks, house wines, local branded beers and local spirits); a select introductory spa treatment; bar fridge; a laundry service; Park entry fee; and game activities are included. PLEASE NOTE: For self-drive visitors, the vehicle entrance fee of R70 (subject to change) is also not included - this is also payable in cash at the entrance gate.

Children Policy

Children over 12 are welcome in the Luxury Suites.

Directions For Drivers

From Hazyview: Follow the R40 towards Klaserie and turn right onto the R531 towards the Kruger Orpen Gate. After approximately 40 km you will see the entrance gate to the Manyeleti Reserve on your right hand side.

For all visitors, there is a R40 entrance fee per person per stay (subject to change) payable in cash at the entrance gate. For self-drive visitors, there is also a vehicle entrance fee of R70 (subject to change) - also payable in cash at the entrance gate. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE ENTRANCE GATE TO THE RESERVE CLOSES AT 6 PM AND REOPENS AGAIN AT 6 AM.

Once in the reserve, follow the signs to the lodge.

Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

From Eastgate/Hoedspruit Airport: Turn right and then turn left onto the R40. Continue along here, and turn left onto the R531 towards the Kruger Orpen Gate, and follow the directions as above.

From Johannesburg/Pretoria: Take the N12 or N4 highway to Witbank/eMalahleni (from Johannesburg Airport, follow signs to Boksburg to find the N12). Follow the N4 highway past Middleburg (Toll Plaza), Belfast/eMakhazeni and Machadodorp (Toll Plaza). Follow the Schoemanskloof option on the N4 and then take the R36 to Lydenburg/Mashishing.

Follow the R36 to Ohrigstad, go through the Strydom Tunnel and take the R527 to Hoedspruit. Turn right onto the R40 towards Klaserie, and continue along this road until you turn left onto the R531 towards the Kruger Orpen Gate. Follow the directions as above.

From Kruger National Park/Orpen Gate: Exit the Park, and continue along the R531. You will see the entrance gate to the Manyeleti Reserve on your left hand side.

General Information For Guests

Guests can opt to pay a voluntary Community Levy if required (currently ZAR 75 per person per stay and subject to change). This will be added to your room account to settle directly with the lodge on departure.
