Tarangire National Park
Located close to Tarangire National Park near the Sangaiwe Gate, Tarangire Simba Lodge is situated in a wildlife-rich area with unhampered views to the beautiful Lake Burunge. Bordered by the Park and a Wildlife Management Area, the setting is stunning.
The main guest areas include a swimming pool, a reception area and a separate lounge and dining room - all connected by wooden walkways. In addition, there is a deck for outdoor dining, plus a ‘tree-top’ viewing platform built in a stately acacia tree to facilitate wildlife watching and star gazing. Afternoon tea is on hand from 15:30 and there is also a fully stocked bar with wine list featuring South African wines.
Elephant, buffalo, ostrich and giraffe frequently pass through the camp, while the birdlife is prolific and vibrant. During the dry season, the small waterhole located in front of the lodge is often visited by a variety of wildlife, and guests can enjoy watching the animals gather to drink from their rooms or the viewing platform.
The accommodation is in 16 classic canvas safari tents constructed on wooden platforms each with en-suite facilities as well as an outdoor shower, and a private veranda with views over the bush. All of this is topped with a thatched roof, complementing rather than intruding on the natural environment. Solar power provides both electricity and hot water. Furnishings are handcrafted from African hardwood decorated with local fabrics.
There is also a family tent.
