The Spice Island Hotel & Resort is a 4* hotel located on the south east coast of Zanzibar, between the villages of Paje and Jambiani. Beautiful white sand beaches are a feature of this stretch of the coastline.

The beach offers uninterrupted relaxation, or jump into one of the largest and deepest swimming pools on the island - 32 meters in length and up to 4m deep.  For the more energetic, the watersport centre offers a wide choice of activities - catamaran sailing, snorkelling, diving, fishing, windsurf, kite, banana riding, water-skiing, coral reef tours and more.

The Makuti Restaurant offers traditional island cuisine - fresh seafood and fish, as well as combining Indian, Arabic and African dishes. The Jetty Bar is at the end of a 100m pier which stretches out into the ocean - the perfect place to relax, enjoy the ocean breeze and sample a cocktail or two!  The Ocean Lounge offers a shady space with an ocean breeze to hide from the hot sunshine without having to dispense the stunning views. Two to three times a week the hotel organises an after-dinner Movie Night, with fimls ranging from classics to documentaries, blockbuster, fantasy, comedy and action. Every now and then children can also enjoy an afternoon kids-movie with fresh popcorn and soda.

The hotel has 34 apartment rooms surrounded by a large botanical garden with more than 3,000 exotic trees, plants and flowers. All are beautifully equipped with a unique blend of Zanzibar furniture influenced by African, Indian and Arabic culture.

There is also a Spa and Wellness centre, where you can get the full treatment for your body, beauty and soul.

The Spa offers a range of massages and treatments.

The pool is 32 meters in length and up to 4 meters deep.

Watersports on offer include snorkelling, catamaran sailing, windsurfing, stand up paddling, swimming with dolphins, speed boat trips, deep sea fishing, private diving lessons, water skiing, tubing, wake boarding and kite surfing. Please enquire at the Water Sports Centre for further details and cost.

Tanzania has a large Muslim population on the island of Zanzibar. Modesty of dress is expected when outside the hotel's grounds. Trousers are entirely acceptable, but short skirts and bare arms should be avoided. Scarves must be worn over the head (and shoes removed) when entering a mosque.
