Kariega Game Reserve

Settlers Drift Location Map

Located in a remote and untouched part of the Big 5 Kariega Game Reserve, Settlers Drift offers a unique tented safari combined with 5* luxury.

This malaria-free game reserve incorporates 11,500 hectares of pristine African wilderness, as well as 2 abundant rivers - the Kariega and the Bushman's rivers.

Daily game drives in open game drive vehicles get you close up to Africa's Big 5 - lion, elephant, rhino, buffalo and leopard - as well as multitudes of other South African wildlife. Guests can also enjoy river cruises and guided bush walks.

The main lodge area has a restaurant, bar, wine cellar, a swimming pool, a boma, curio shop and a library.

In between game drives, relax in the Sala and enjoy a relaxing spa treatment.

The lodge consists of 9 spacious tented suites, each with stunning views and secluded viewing decks. Each suite offers an opulent bedroom and living area, full bathroom, indoor/outdoor shower, mini-bar and private viewing deck.

Gazing down from your deck overlooking the Bushman'’s River, it feels as if time has stood still since the last feet to have touched this remote valley were those of the 1820 Settlers as they guided their wagons across the river.
