The Serengeti
The award-winning Sayari Camp is renowned for extraordinary wildlife sightings and supreme comfort. Relax in your extra-comfortable hillside suite after a day on safari, or take a dip in the glorious rim-flow swimming pool with dramatic views over the northern plains. Intimate, contemporary and elegant, it is no surprise that this permanent camp is regularly voted one of the top safari escapes on the planet.
Lying just across the border from Kenya's Masai Mara, and a stone's throw from the famed Mara River that the migratory herds must cross to reach the new grasslands, this area is also heralded as one of the prime game-viewing areas in East Africa. During the migration, hundreds of thousands of wildebeest brave the crocodile-infested waters of the Mara River to reach safety - a dramatic game-viewing experience that is all but on the doorstep of Sayari Camp.
But some would say it’s the months outside of the migration that are the best in this corner of the Serengeti. The plains around Sayari have large herds of plains game throughout the year, with lion and cheetah forever lurking in the grasslands and ever vigilant for easy prey. In the lush woodland that thrives alongside the Mara River you’ll find herds of elephant and shy leopard, as well as astounding birdlife - over 500 species can found here throughout the year.
The 15 expansive tented suites boast rich mahogany floors and floor-to-ceiling windows. En-suite bathrooms, with spacious showers and large egg-shaped baths, offer similarly impressive Serengeti views. Private verandas and safari-chic decor complete the world-class experience.
The main guest area consists of a peaceful lounge and dining room that opens up onto a generous deck where natural rock frames the rim-flow pool overlooking game-rich plains and the distant Mara River.
The camp will be closed from the end of January till the end of May for refurbishments.
