Set on the east coast of Zanzibar on the Kiwengwa shoreline, Diamonds Mapenzi Beach perfectly blends in the natural environment of the surrounding landscape, covering an area of 4 hectares blessed with a long white beach and tropical gardens of palms and colourful bougainvillea.

Stroll through the gardens to the emerald waters of the Indian Ocean, stretch out on a sun bed, bathe in the blue pool or challenge yourself in one of the many activities or water sports offered by the local animation team. Or enjoy a relaxing treatment at the Mvua Spa. 

Dining facilities include a main buffet restaurant, a beach pizzeria, a beach grill for those who want to spend the whole day on the beach, and a’ la carte restaurant which is located directly on the beach front and serves delicious fresh seafood specialties under small gazebos in a romantic atmosphere.

Twice a week the hotel organises special themed evenings. One is located around the pool area and an African live band performs various different music styles during and after dinner. The second theme night is the Africa Night which is set on the beach, and includes African speciality dishes as well as a live Ngoma Ngoma show (African show with rhythm music, fire dancer, snake charming).

Room categories include Swahili Rooms, Superior Rooms and Beach Villas.  The 21 Swahili Rooms are found on the resort’s highest level surrounded by magnificent gardens. The rooms are all elegantly furnished in traditional African style. The 36 Superior Rooms have been elegantly furnished in traditional African style and have a large private veranda. The 30 Beach Villas are located on the beach and also have a private veranda.

Tanzania has a large Muslim population on the island of Zanzibar. Modesty of dress is expected when outside the hotel's grounds. Trousers are entirely acceptable, but short skirts and bare arms should be avoided. Scarves must be worn over the head (and shoes removed) when entering a mosque.
