Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is a traditional tented safari camp, set on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River in a 100,000 acre wildlife sanctuary – called Ol Pejeta Conservancy. The Ol Pejeta Conservancy and Bush Camp's aim is to take game-viewing and environmental knowledge to a whole new level, and is ideal for those wishing to get a bit more out of their safari.
The owner-managed camp gives a unique safari experience, described by guests as 'the real Africa', offering interactive conservation activities, whereby guests are given the opportunity to experience modern wildlife conservation first-hand.
Likewise, for those seeking a nature retreat and wishing to distance themselves from a busy schedule, rest, relaxation and independence are all equally encouraged.
The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience. Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including all the “Big Five” (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion) as well a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees and also incorporates the smaller Sweetwaters Game Reserve.
Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is made up of 6 tented rooms, all with fantastic views over the river. They are traditional, simple and comfortable, and as eco-friendly as possible. The tents have re-chargeable solar lights, en-suite toilets, washstands on the tent veranda, and safari bucket showers (brought on request, of any preferred temperature by guests at any time of day!).
Dining is generally in the communal tent, where the chef uses locally sourced ingredients, and creates sumptuous meals. Private dinners can be arranged on request.
