Lion Sands Tinga Lodge Location.
Directions For Drivers
From Johannesburg: The recommended route from Johannesburg is the N12/N4 to Nelspruit, then the R40 from Nelspruit to Hazyview. You then take the R536 from Hazyview towards Paul Kruger Gate.
If you can at this stage, please give the lodge a call on +27 (0) 13 735 8400 when you reach Hazyview so that they know approximately when to expect you at the lodge.
Enter the Kruger National Park at the Paul Kruger Gate, announcing yourselves as guests of Lion Sands, and take the main road to Skukuza Rest Camp. At the first 4 way stop, Skukuza Rest Camp will be on your left hand side and Tinga will be signposted as straight on. Carry on until you reach a T-Junction where it is signposted 'Tinga 4 km'. At the T-Junction, turn left and then at the next 4 way stop turn right, towards the river and go over the low level bridge. About 0.5 km after the bridge you turn left onto a gravel road. Once on this road drive straight until you see a sign post for Tinga Reception.
Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.
PLEASE NOTE: The Kruger National Park prohibits the use of roads within the Park before the gates are open and once the gates are closed, therefore guests need to plan their arrival and departure times carefully. You cannot arrange to leave the Park before the gates are open, and you must ensure that you arrive at the entrance gate with sufficient time to drive through the Park to reach your destination by the time the gate closes, otherwise you may not be permitted to enter.

Bush Walks / Walking Safaris
Children under the age of 16 years are not allowed on guided walks. A guided walk can last a couple of hours and involve walking over uneven terrain that may contain dangerous wildlife in potentially high temperatures. Guests may need to move quickly and for a sustained period through rough bush terrain if instructed to do so by their guide. Regardless of age, the final decision on whether a guest can join a guided walk remains with the guide and lodge manager.
