The Garden Route
Lush indigenous vegetation and forests framed by majestic mountain ranges on the one side and the Indian Ocean with its pristine white beaches on the other make the Garden Route one of the most beautiful parts of South Africa.
Hog Hollow Country Lodge is situated in a private nature reserve, only 18 km east of Plettenberg Bay, and provides guests with an ideal base to explore the Garden Route, and its myriad of attractions.
The main house is where it all happens and, apart from the dining room, includes 3 lounge areas; one leading out to the sun drenched deck area and on down to the pool, whilst the other offers the privacy to use the internet and keep in contact with friends and family. The third is situated near the Cape Ficus Tree growing through the deck, perfect for spotting birds coming to feed off the fruit in the tree.
In the evenings, superb dinners are served around the communal table in the convivial comfort of the candle-lit dining room.
Sixteen uniquely individual rooms are all situated in the gardens surrounding the main house. Decorated in earthy colours, with hand crafted artefacts scattered throughout, all feature kingsize beds (or twin if you prefer), and a well stocked mini bar. Sit out on your private wooden deck listening to the sounds of a garden humming with life, enveloped in the warmth of the African sun.
There are 3 double storey suites suitable for families with children aged 12 or under sharing with their parents. Children are accommodated downstairs on a double sleeper couch and an ottoman, slightly shorter than a single bed but wider.
The Villa is about 400 meters from the main lodge, and is a 4 bedroomed double storey house with extraordinary views of the valley. The house opens up onto a private infinity pool and wooden decks.

All went very smoothly. Had an amazing time – really the holiday of a lifetime for us – so far at least. Sante Winelands Hotel is absolutely outstanding – they upgraded us to a “Manor Room” and it really is the most amazing location for relaxation, the Spa was fab. Hog Hollow in Plett was fantastic. Andy, the owner was extremely helpful, sent me to his brothers bar for the Ireland vs SA match etc! We had 5 great nights there and room was great (one of the 3 new cabins). We managed to do something different and great every day. Food is also very good there. Gorah was what you’d expect! It was the highlight of Catherine’s trip as she loved the drives. Food was good, accommodation lovely – very worthwhile.
