Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is highly acclaimed as one of the most luxurious lodges in Botswana. Meaning 'Place of High View' in the local language of Setswana, the lodge sits above the Chobe River in the Chobe National Park, and offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and flood plains onto Namibia's Caprivi Strip.

Activities include game drives in open 4x4 vehicles to view Africa's largest concentration of elephants, or to witness the gathering of lion, herds of buffalo and a variety of other species along the banks of the Chobe River. This same abundance of wildlife can also be viewed on an early evening sundowner cruise, while sipping cocktails.

In between game activities, guests can relax by the split-level swimming pool, or unwind with a pampering session in the spa. Decadent high teas are often served on the shady lawn overlooking the river.

End each day with pre-dinner drinks on the terrace before sitting down to a sumptuous 3 course dinner which is a delicious, eclectic fusion of Western and African cuisine and delicacies - all topped off by a sampling of vintage wines and spirits from the cellar.

Each of the 14 thatched suites has an en-suite bathroom featuring a large freestanding bath and separate rain shower. After a day of game viewing, what better way to relax than in your own private garden with a cocktail? Or if the fancy takes you, why not have your gourmet dinner served here under the African sky. Three of the suites also feature an extra bedroom - perfect for families.

The Pool Suite is for couples looking for more privacy, and features a private plunge pool and private deck area where you can relax with a cocktail or enjoy private dinners for two under the stars (weather permitting).

From it's elevated position above the Chobe River, the lodge offers unparalleled panoramic views across the islands and floodplains of the Chobe River as far across as Namibia.

The spa offers a range of spa and hydrotherapy treatments from both the Thalgo and Africology ranges.

There is a swimming pool.

A hearty full English and continental breakfast is served before departing for your morning game viewing activity. After experiencing the Chobe National Park you will be taken back to the lodge for lunch (a delicious 3 course plated meal). Later in the afternoon the friendly staff serve afternoon tea with the Chobe River as a back drop before departing again for your afternoon game viewing activity. During your afternoon game drive or sundowner cruises you might stop for classic sundowner drinks and canapes - the only way to celebrate yet another beautiful African sunset! Enjoy pre-dinner drinks on the terrace of the lodge before sitting down for a 3 course dinner.

The lodge is a 10 minute drive from Kasane Airport.
