Singita Sweni Lodge

Singita Sweni Lodge is in the East of the Kruger Park near the Lebombo mountains, and the design of this beautiful lodge was influenced by the structures of dens, warrens and lairs found in the area. Flanking the Sweni River, this tranquil sanctuary is elevated on stilts with decks of timber. Even when you're indoors, you'll have the sensation of being close to the river and trees.

The main lodge boasts lounge and timber deck dining areas with views of the bush & Sweni river, a bar area, a lounge area (complete with fireplace), a swimming pool and a wine cellar

The area boast spectacular scenery and superb game viewing, including a wealth of Big 5, abundant antelope and birdlife, and an incredible diversity of smaller animals. Guests can enjoy viewing game from open Land Rovers on morning and afternoon drives, accompanied by experienced rangers and trackers. Bush walks and spotlit night safaris are available.

Singita Sweni has just 7 secluded suites, with tactile furnishings, which have been carefully created to reflect the textures and shades of the bush. Designed with open-plan living in mind, your suite flows from the bathroom area, through to the lounge and into the bedroom.

The luxury air-conditioned suites have floor-to-ceiling glass walls, luxurious bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, an expansive living area, mini bar and fridge, room safe and private wooden leisure decks with a day bed. Try the outdoor shower overlooking the river or - for a magical experience - 'camp out' under the stars on the day bed out on your viewing deck.

One of the suites has a private splash pool on the deck.

Rates Include

Three meals per day; all drinks, including premium wines, spirits and liqueurs (excluding champagnes); and open Land Rover shared game drives accompanied by experienced guides and trackers are included. PLEASE NOTE: The Kruger National Park Private Concession gate entry fee is NOT included - this is currently R110 per person per stay - subject to change.

Children Policy

Children aged 10 years and older are welcome. Children under 10 years old can be accommodated if the lodge is booked on an exclusive use basis.

Directions For Drivers

From Nelspruit: Take the R538 to Hazyview. Turn right at the 4 way traffic lights and take the R536 to the Paul Kruger Gate. There is a Kruger National Park Private Concession gate entry fee payable in cash at the entrance gate - this is currently R110 per person per stay - subject to change.

Once in the Park, take the main road (H11) to Skukuza (12 km), and head north from here on the H1-2 towards Tshokwane (41 km).

Shortest route - 13 km after Tshokwane is an alternate short cut (on gravel road). Turn right on the S37 for 36 km until you reach the H6 (tarmac road) Turn right here for 300m until you reach the T-junction.

Tarmac road route - keep heading north on the H1-3 until you reach the H6 (45 km from Tshokwane) Turn right at the H6 and keep heading straight until you reach the T-junction (19 km).

Turn left at the T-junction onto the gravel road. Take the first right turn to get to the lodge and office.

Do not get out of your car until you reach the lodge. You may see some wildlife on your way - if you do, slow down and maintain a good distance. Do not drive off-road in any circumstances.

PLEASE NOTE: The Kruger National Park prohibits the use of roads within the Park before the gates are open and once the gates are closed, therefore guests need to plan their arrival and departure times carefully. You cannot arrange to leave the Park before the gates are open, and you must ensure that you arrive at the entrance gate with sufficient time to drive through the Park to reach your destination by the time the gate closes, otherwise you may not be permitted to enter.

You should allow at least 3 hours to drive through the Park to reach the lodge.

Please note that the maximum speed limit in the Park is 50 km/h for tar roads and 40 km/h for gravel roads.

General Information For Guests

The lodge offers 7 intimate suites, each with their own private deck. Each Tree House suite is connected to the other via elevated wooden walkways.

The lodge amenities include a swimming pool in the main lodge area, Spa and gym facilities, and the Singita Boutique and Gallery.

There is mobile phone signal (dependant on area coverage) and complimentary Wi-Fi access, however due to the remote location of the lodge, the Wi-Fi connection can be slow and intermittent.

A laundry service is available (additional cost).

Electricity/power is available: 220V. Converters are available and hair dryers are supplied in each suite.

Children of all ages are welcome. There are babysitting services available and tailormade activities to suit each family. In the interest of safety, participation of children in game activities is at the discretion of your guide.

Kosher and Halaal meals are available, although these must be booked in advance.

If you are arriving/departing via FedAir, the lodge is a 45 minute drive away from the airstrip.
