This 7 night holiday combines the best of both worlds for any family looking for a quick get away for some fun in the sun - there is time to let your hair down and relax at Sun City, followed by the thrill of a malaria-free African Big 5 safari - either on a game vehicle or on horseback!
The trip starts with 4 nights at the Sun City resort where kids (and adults who are in touch with their inner child) can enjoy the wide range of fun activities on offer here. Grab your popcorn, and settle in for blockbuster magic at Sun Movies, dig for treasure at the General Mining Stor and Scratch Patch, or enjoy arcade games and ten-pin bowling. Head for the mini quad-biking track for some 4 wheeled family fun, or try out some new watersports at the Waterworld Lake, including parasailing, jet skiing, wakeboardingand tube rides. And if that is not enough, you can also discover the amazing world of crocodiles at Kwena Gardens, or get lost in the Maze of the Lost City - the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.
You will also be spoilt for choice at Sun City Resort’s wide variety of restaurants and bars, with everything from luxury fine dining, family restaurants, fast food outlets to themed bars to choose from. Sun City has something for everyone to enjoy.
After Sun City you drive to the beautiful 12,000 hectare Mabula Private Game Reserve, where you will enjoy morning and evening game drives in search of some of Africa's magnificent wildlife including the famous Big 5. The early morning safaris in particular are a highlight - lions are still lively and on the move at this time, antelope are more energetic and an abundance of birds may also be seen. The afternoon safaris provide an opportunity to see nocturnal animals.
Guests can also experience getting really close to the animals in their natural environment, with no vehicles close by, on horseback - this 2 hour activity will take you off the road and deep into the bush, on the paths where the animals wander. Any abililty of riders can be catered to. This can be booked at the lodge and there is an additional charge, or alternatively you can swop one of your game drives for a horseback safari instead.
