Summary Of The Route and Costs
Combine a stay at an historic 5* luxury hotel which is just a mere stone's throw from the alluring V&A Waterfront in Cape Town with a safari in the malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, one of South Africa's largest game reserves and home to 66 large mammal species including the Big 5 and over 300 resident and migrant bird species.
The Dock House Boutique Hotel in Cape Town offers the ideal balance between convenience and complete privacy. The hotel’s charming exterior gives way to an opulent world beyond its front door. Chandeliers and ornate ceiling cornices, among other fine touches, create a sense of Victorian charm and allude to the property's historical roots - originally the Harbour Master's private residence in the 1800s.
You will then fly to Johannesburg, where you are met from your flight and transferred to the exclusive departure lounge for FedAir, who will be flying you across to Madikwe. The lounge serves a selection of complimentary hot beverages and cold soft drinks, as well as sandwiches, fruit and other snacks while you are waiting to board your light aircraft.
Upon landing at Madikwe's airstrip you will be met and transferred to Etali Safari Lodge, where you will stay for 4 nights. Daily morning and afternoon game drives take you on an unforgettable Big 5 safari adventure and you can witness the majesty of Africa's iconic wildlife up close led by knowledgeable guides.
After your safari, you will fly back to Johannesburg where you will check in for your flight home.

Arrive into Cape Town Airport. Upon landing, you will be welcomed at the aircraft by a security approved airside supplier. If the aircraft is parked against the terminal building, you will be met at the sky bridge; if the aircraft is parked away from the airport building then you will be met at the entrance of the airport building. You will then be escorted to Immigration and onto the correct baggage carousel to collect your luggage. Finally, you will be accompanied through Customs and into the arrivals terminal, where a Guest Service Officer will be waiting to welcome you to South Africa and then introduce you to your transfer driver.
You will then be transferred to The Dock House.
The glamorous suite and each of the 5 chic rooms at Dock House Boutique Hotel have been individually decorated and imbued with a unique and understated Victorian elegance, juxtaposed with lush contemporary style and comfort. The suite has access to a private garden, while the other ground floor room opens onto a veranda overlooking the groomed garden and swimming pool area. Three of the 4 upstairs rooms have balconies overlooking the Waterfront's scenic harbour and surroundings.
Cape Town
After breakfast you will be collected and transferred back to the airport, arriving in time to check in for your morning flight to the Kruger National Park (please note: check in is 90 minutes prior to the flight departure).

Once you have collected your luggage you need to make your way into the Arrivals Hall, where you will be met by a representative from FedAir. You will then be transferred to the private FedAir departure lounge where you can relax before boarding your flight across to the Madikwe Game Reserve. Please note that there is a baggage restriction of 20 kg per person and you have to have a 'soft' bag (for easy storage in the plane).
FedAir (Light Aircraft): Fly from Johannesburg (JNB) departing at 13:00 to Madikwe Airstrip, arriving at 14:00
You will be met at the airstrip and transferred to your lodge. Nestled in the magnificent malaria-free Madikwe Game Reserve, Etali Safari Lodge has earned a reputation for offering guests a unique and personal African bush experience where nature, relaxation and luxury combine to form an unforgettable memory. Guests can enjoy twice daily game drives, optional game walks and 'armchair safaris' from the main deck and rooms overlooking the Etali waterhole and surrounding areas.
Madikwe Game Reserve
After you return from your morning game drive you will have time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast at the lodge. You will then have to check out of your room but you can relax around the main lodge areas until it is time to depart for the transfer back to the airstrip, where you will board the afternoon flight back to Johannesburg.
FedAir 104 (Light Aircraft): Fly from Madikwe Airstrip departing at 14:30 to Johannesburg OR Tambo (JNB), arriving at 15:30
You will be met and transferred to the International Departure Terminal where you will check in for your flight home.
