Exploring South Africa's Cape

Summary Of The Route and Costs

If you are looking for something different, certainly if this is your second or even third time to South Africa, this trip will showcase some hidden gems plus an opportunity to return to the 'tried and trusted' areas of Cape Town and the Winelands.

You'll begin your trip in Port Elizabeth, at the far end of the Garden Route. Here, you can shake off the jetlag in a 5* boutique hotel for the first night away and relax in the tranquil courtyard.

Fully refreshed, you will then head to Addo Elephant National Park where you'll stay for 2 nights in an luxurious tented suite that breathes the spirit of safari. At sunrise and sunset you'll set out on exciting game drives, watching dozens of elephant gather at the waterholes in the first and last light of day.

Your next stop is in a traditional colonial Karoo homestead surrounded by a natural amphitheatre of mountains, deep within the Samara Private Game Reserve. You'll take morning and game drives into the pristine wilderness and trek wild cheetah on foot through the fragrant bush. For 3 glorious nights, just let the tranquillity of the Karoo envelop you.

After this, you'll stay in a beautiful country house just outside the small town of Oudtshoorn - the ostrich capital of the world. Here, you can test the unbelievable strength of an ostrich egg shell - by standing on it without it cracking!  A visit to the impressive Cango Caves is also a good way to spend a few hours during your stay here.

Now you head towards familiar territory and spend 2 nights in the enchanting Cape Winelands in an exclusive manor house and well-known winery, where your private patio will overlook endless rows of vineyards ripening in the sunshine.

Your trip will end in Cape Town, one of the most beautiful cities in the entire world. Cape Cadogan is set just off the buzzing Kloof Street in a scenic suburb, so you can live like a local and still be treated as a guest.
