Mpala Jena Camp

Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe

Days 1 - 2: Victoria Falls - Zimbabwe

Mpala Jena Camp Location Map

Mpala Jena Camp is an exquisite and exclusive canvas tented camp, located on a private concession within the Zambezi National Park. Overlooking a beautiful stretch of the Zambezi River shoreline, the 4 tents can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests, and have been elegantly positioned under a mixture of indigenous trees. The camp is named after the natural spring-line which runs through the centre of the concession, and attracts an abundance of wildlife throughout the year, particularly during the drier months.

This Relais & Chateau property is conveniently located 16 kilometres inside the Zambezi National Park which makes for easy access to Victoria Falls Falls but is far enough away from the hustle and bustle, allowing guests to relax and unwind.

The Zambezi National Park has a healthy and ever increasing number of wildlife species, with higher concentrations of buffalo and elephant during the months June through to October. This area is particularly good for bird watching throughout the year, but with a higher diversity of species during the months November through to April.

Start the day by heading out on a game drive in a custom built Land Cruiser, or set off on a guided walk to look for the smaller and often unseen wildlife, taking in the sights and sounds that surround you. During your stay, you will have opportunity to enjoy a one day excursion into Victoria Falls Town, including a visit to the ever impressive mass of falling water at the Victoria Falls. At the end of the day, take to the river on a boat safari and enjoy a sundowner as the sunsets.

The guest tents are under beige, flowing canvas, with canopy ceilings, Moroccan style influences and open (yet netted) views. The decking in front of each tent leads to a private plunge pool with views of the calming and peaceful flowing waters of the Zambezi River.

In addition, there is also the Mpala Jena Suite, a private and exclusive 2 bedroomed tented villa. The suite sleeps a maximum of 4 adults sharing or a party of 5 if there are children travelling with 2 parents. The 2 spacious bedrooms sit either side of a central lounge and dining area, and it also has a private plunge pool and campfire.
