Verney's Camp

Hwange National Park

Verney's Camp Location Map

Verney’s Camp is located in a 10,000 hectare (24,710 acres) private concession in an extremely remote south-eastern corner of the Hwange National Park that cannot be accessed by regular Park visitors.

Situated on a large open floodplain, the camp opens up onto a waterhole, which draws in numerous wildlife species and is a playground for the famous elephant herds of Hwange.

Early morning and sunset game drives are included in your stay. The wildlife in the area is prolific and chances are good to see some of the larger predators, herds of elephant and buffalo and all the plains animals that occur here. Night drives are conducted in the early evening offering one a chance to see the smaller more nocturnal animals with spotlights.

For those wishing to be more adventurous, embark on a guided morning walking safari with your ranger and learn more about the smaller things in the bush that can be missed when driving.

There are 10 tents, tucked perfectly under the shady trees bordering the waterhole in front of the camp. Each tent has been carefully positioned to ensure both serenity and privacy, so that guests can enjoy the surrounding natural beauty.  Each room is comfortably appointed and has an en-suite bathroom, all of which are beautifully designed to retain that magical feeling of being on safari.

Two of the tents are family rooms, which can accommodate up to 4 people.
