Sossus Dune Lodge lies just 4 km from the Sesriem gate, at the base of a mountain. This is the only lodge located inside the National Park, and as such enjoys a unique and exclusive position. There are magnificent views of the distant dunes to the west, and guests can walk directly from the lodge to the nearby Sesriem Canyon.
Optional activities on offer include a guided Sossusvlei drive, guided nature drives, or a guided after-dinner stargazing stroll. Guided walks to the Sesriem Canyon can also be organised. In addition, the lodge is an ideal destination to admire and photograph the stunning scenery of the Namib Naukluft Park's high red/orange sand dunes.
The main central areas of the Lodge are raised on wooden decking. There is a small reception room, large open-plan restaurant, and separate lounge/bar areas that are fitted with large sliding doors. There is also a swimming pool, with a few lazy-loungers.

Directions For Drivers
From Windhoek: The road between Windhoek and Sossus Dune Lodge is a gravel road - it is about a 3 to 4 hours drive.
Take the B1 to Rehoboth. 4 km after you pass Rehoboth (still on the B1) turn-off to Klein Aub.
From Klein Aub, drive straight to Rietoog (on the MR47), and drive past Bϋllsport. From Bϋllsport drive in a southerly direction along the C14 for 1 km and turn on the D854 road until the C19 junction.
Turn left where it says ‘To Solitaire’. The C19 will take you to Sesriem. You need to turn left to Sesriem as you are coming from the opposite direction. At Sesriem, go through the gate and drive in the direction of Sesriem Canyon which is also indicated as a 4 km distance.
Sossus Dune Lodge turn-off is 1 km from the viewpoint of the Sesriem Canyon on the right hand side.
All vehicles are to be parked at the designated Parking Area; SDL attendants will transport you via golf cars to the Reception Area of the lodge for check-in procedures.
General Information For Guests
The lodge has a restaurant, bar, tourist shop and a swimming pool.
Activities that are available at an additional cost include sunset drives, guided nature drives and guided walks to the Sesriem Canyon.
Self-drive vehicles are parked in a shaded parking area, and guests are transferred by electric golf cart.
The pool area is not shaded, so guests should bring sun lotion.
