Selinda
Selinda Explorers Camp is located in the 330,000 acre Selinda Reserve and is built on the banks of the Selinda Spillway. Subtly placed under the shade of the riverine forest, the camp is designed in the style of the early explorers, drawing on traditions of the classic East African safari with beautifully detailed campaign style furniture made from recycled hard woods, and soft furnishings from Zanzibar and the East.
It is an ideal property for guests who want to experience Botswana’s extraordinary wildlife but in a private setting.
Wildlife viewing is focused on guided walks and canoeing (when water levels allow) in addition to game drives, allowing guests to take in the smaller things often missed from a vehicle. The area is also home to herds of elephant and buffalo with lion, leopard, African wild dog, sable and roan antelope seen on a regular basis. There is phenomenal bird life along the Spillway’s banks.
After a busy day full of incredible activities and sightings, while away the heat of the afternoon in a hammock, under the canopy of African ebony and mangosteen trees, for the perfect respite from the ‘daily grind’ of a traditional safari.
The 4 custom-designed semi-permanent tents consist of 2 rooms plus a verandah, as well as a private open air ‘bustani bathroom’ with hot water showers.
The camp’s focal point is the Bedouin-style main area consisting of a lounge and dining room. Attentive staff and fabulous food complete the picture.
