River Crossing Lodge

Rediscover the nuances of a bygone era of farm life at River Crossing Lodge. The lodge is situated 3 km from Windhoek on the airport road but still just 5 minutes from the heart of Windhoek. It is located on a pristine 6,500 hectare game reserve, and is ideal for guests who wish to be close enough to town to enjoy some shopping or dinner in one of Windhoek's restaurants, but prefer the peace and quiet of the bush.

The main lodge building comprises a dining room, a centrally situated bar and a lounge with fireplace. Nestled outside between the lounge and dining area is the pool. The elevated wooden deck offers a fairytale view of Windhoek.

The lodge offers a host of activities including game drives, horse riding, guided or self guided walks. The game drives morning and afternoon are engaging - the views are superb, the flora varied and the game abundant. Nineteen different species roam the reserve, including roan, sable, giraffe and wildebeest - leopard and cheetah are also seen from time to time. The reserve can also be explored on foot in the company of one of the lodge guides or on your own. The reserve is very hilly, so a basic level of fitness is required.

The lodge and the rooms have been designed to emulate old German farm houses – think ‘stoep’ with ‘afdakkie’ and pots of geraniums.

The 20 guest en-suite chalets consist of 14 twin chalets and 6 double chalets. 6 chalets offer views of Windhoek and 14 face east offering superb sunrise views of the Moltkeblick Mountain.

General Information For Guests

All chalets have an en-suite bathroom with shower, WC and basin. They also have a television, tea/coffee making facilities, telephone, verandah, fridge and air conditioning.

The main lodge building comprises a dining room, a centrally situated bar and a lounge with a fireplace. Outside between the lounge and dining area is the pool, and an elevated wooden deck.

Activities available at River Crossing Lodge include game drives, horse riding, guided or self guided walks and mountain biking. Activities require a minimum of 2 people per excursion (additional cost).
