Masai Mara
Porini Cheetah Camp is situated on the private Ol Kinyei Conservancy - a recognised hotspot for big cats, especially cheetahs and lions that are seen on a regular basis and often with cubs. It is also home to large herds of elephants, including plenty of plains game for which the Masai Mara eco-system is renowned for. Very few other cars will share your game sightings, making this a very intimate wildlife experience.
The camp is located close to the Olare Lemunyi watercourse, between a nearby kopje named White Rock and a marsh fed by a permanent underground spring that is a magnet for antelopes and zebras, especially during the dry season.
Guests staying at Porini can enjoy a host of different activities, from morning, evening and night game drives in the Ol Kinyei Conservancy and the adjacent Naboisho Conservancy, escorted walks with Masai guides, or an optional full day spent in the nearby Masai Mara National Reserve with a picnic lunch.
When the day draws to a close, enjoy a sundowner at the White Rock, taking advantage of its many scenic view points over the rolling plains as the sun sets on another day.
Porini Cheetah Camp contains just 6 spacious en-suite guest tents that are tastefully furnished with local materials. The camp is entirely solar-powered and the comfortable tents have fans and charging points for use in the day.
