Onguma Bush Camp

Etosha National Park

Onguma Bush Camp Location Map

Onguma Bush Camp is situated in the private Onguma Game Reserve, which adjoins the Eastern boundary of the iconic Etosha National Park. The reserve covers an area of over 34,000 hectares and incorporates savannah, bushveld, omuramba and dry pan. Age-old and well-worn migration routes are now used by elephant and buffalo who wander through Onguma’s 3 dry riverbeds.

More than 300 bird species can be viewed at Onguma. The reserve boasts the biggest breeding colony of white-backed vultures in Namibia. During the summer months Onguma becomes a bird-watchers paradise with thousands of species migrating to wetlands created by the seasonal rains and river systems.

After enjoying a game drive into Etosha National Park in the morning, you have several options to choose from when you return to camp - a sunset nature drive on the Onguma Reserve, or a night drive after dinner in search of Onguma's nocturnal creatures. You can also join a bush walk with a guide to learn more about the intricacies of the bush 'up close' or visit the Onguma water-level hide, which offers a great opportunity to calmly sit and enjoy nature unobserved.

Onguma Bush Camp offers different styles of en-suite accommodation, according to your requirements. There are 18 rooms in total to choose from, including comfortable Standard/Loft Rooms, circular thatched Rondavels, Family Rooms, Deluxe Waterhole or Poolside Rooms, or the beautiful Settler's Room, which has a private lounge area.

The main guest areas consist of a pool, a lounge and a dining area which all have views of a stunning waterhole that affords great opportunities to see nature at play around the clock. You don’t even have to leave the camp to see game - they come to you!
