The Serengeti
The Serengeti Safari Camp is a nomadic camp, that travels within the Serengeti National Park, following the annual Migration of wildebeest. It is a great way to experience a safari in its essence. The camp will travel to where the densities of animals are mostly higher, so the chance of seeing large predators is much greater. It's the base for exciting game drives - conquering the landscapes and absorbing the sheer hugeness of it all.
The Serengeti Safari Camp can accommodate only 12 people, and each group is assigned their own private vehicle and guide for the duration of their stay, so you can tailor your game viewing activities to your own requirements. Superb picnic lunches are provided, which means that you can opt for an all-day game drive, or you can return to camp for lunch if you prefer. As well as some of the best game-driving opportunities in Africa, there is also the potential for great walks in most locations where the camp is sited, but this cannot be guaranteed given the ever moving camp.
There are 2 mess tents, one for dining and one for relaxing with a collection of books and board games on offer - both completely open to the bush at the front. Dinners may be served in the mess tent or, more usually, around the campfire under the Serengeti sky.
Despite being a mobile camp, the Serengeti Safari Camp is surprisingly stylish in the somewhat colonial style of the early African explorers.
Guests are accommodated in 6 spacious East African safari tents, completely enclosed and luxuriously equipped with full sized beds, dressing table, safari wardrobe, luggage rack and safari chairs. Each tent has rechargeable lights and traditional hurricane lamps.
At the front there is a large veranda with safari chairs while at the back there is a good sized en-suite bathroom with bucket shower. Hot water is always available and there is a daily laundry service.
