Set in 50 acres of virgin Tanzanian bush in the Ngorongoro volcanic landscape, the Neptune Ngorongoro Lodge (formerly Exploreans Ngorongoro Lodge) is located practically on the doorstep of the entrance gate to the iconic Ngorongoro Crater, said to have the most dense concentration of wildlife in Africa.

Game drives into the Ngorongoro Crater begin early in the morning. The descent into the crater is one of scenic beauty as you make your way through lush forests, home to numerous elephants and buffalo. 


As you reach the inside of the Ngorongoro Crater, marvelling at the incredible landscape around you, your guide will take you through the grassy crater floor, the unbelievable fever tree forest, the banks of Lake Magadi and the surrounding marshes.

Lunch is served picnic style, surrounded by the natural wonders around you as well as the exceptional wildlife, roaming freely, with which you share this extraordinary paradise.

This all inclusive property features 20 spacious private en-suite log cabins with an open fire place in the bedroom, and a living room with a large private viewing terrace.

The main lodge area has a restaurant with an outdoor terrace, and a bar.

Guests can also indulge in moments of relaxation at the swimming pool or at the Mvua African Rain Spa after a full-day game drive.

Rates Include

Complimentary welcome drink; breakfast, lunch and dinner; soft drinks, juices, wine, Tanzanian beer, selected wine, tea/coffee served during meals and at the bar; cocktails and selected spirits served after 18.00; and afternoon tea, cookies, cakes and sandwiches between 15.30 to 18.00 are included. Game drives are taken with your private driver-guide.

General Information For Guests

All rooms are en-suite with a large bathroom and shower. They also include a comfortable living room with armchairs, sofa bed, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer and a safe. The rooms also have solar water heating. Room service is available on request.

The main area consists of the lounge, restaurant, bar, library, boutique shop, swimming pool and spa.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available in the main area.

Activities available include game drives, guided nature walks,and visits to coffee farms and the nearby Masai villages.

The Accacia Restaurant features an outdoor terrace and offers a healthy buffet option and à la carte for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with light and tasty Mediterranean cuisine fused with local dishes. The majority of the meat, fruits and dairy products are sourced from the vegetable garden and from the communities that surround the conservation area.

The Zebar Bar offers a peaceful and calm atmosphere during the day and in the early evenings, and is open from 10:00 to 23:00.
