Nehimba is Zimbabwe’s exclusive photographic safari camp, inside a private concession in Zimbabwe’s biggest park, Hwange National Park. This remote and previously unexplored sanctuary boasts the famous and natural Nehimba Seep with many other pans. A truly wild and unspoilt paradise, situated on its own private wildlife estate, you can revel in the unique viewing of strongholds of elephants roaming freely without fences or restrictions.

Activities include guided game drives to view the Nehimba Seep and wildlife in modified open 4x4 vehicles and night game drives to introduce you to the nocturnal species such as hyena, jackal, porcupine, genet, civet and with luck leopard or a lion hunt.

Guests can also enjoy game walks and the thrill of approaching wildlife led by armed guides to learn about the surrounding vegetation and ecology.

The main lodge and chalets all overlook a large natural pan and salt lick where elephant are seen in abundance.

Nehimba has 9 spacious chalets built on decks from teak and canvas under thatch, all with en-suite elegant bathrooms.

The camp also has a swimming pool and guests can enjoy a welcoming camp fire or mouth- watering meals in the dining room or under the African sky.

General Information For Guests

The rooms are all equipped with a ceiling fan, electronic safe, and mosquito nets.  There is complimentary Wi-Fi available.

The main area consists of an open fronted thatched building, bar area, and a lounge and dining room overlooking a nearby waterhole. There is a plunge pool.

Game drives are conducted in specially modified Land rovers designed to provide wildlife enthusiasts with ideal opportunities for photography.

For an entirely different perspective, join an armed professional guides and get close to nature. During a game walk you can experience the thrill of approaching wildlife on foot. Your guide will also teach you the basics of how to track wildlife from the ground as well as interesting facts about the surrounding vegetation and ecology.

For those who would like to view Hwange in a different 'light' the camp offers guests the opportunity to accompany one of the guides on a night drive through the concession. Filtered spotlights are used to pick out the various nocturnal species that can be found such as hyena, porcupines, civets, genet cats, and if you're lucky, perhaps even a leopard on hunt.

The Nemimba Seep is a special designated conservation area and is one of the only year-round, naturally occurring water supplies in the massive Hwange National Park. The seep is an ancient source of surface water that was once used by the San Bushmen. Today the area is frequented by elephant, who can be found digging for minerals as well as enjoying the water.

Situated in a scenic hilly spot only 15 km from Sinamatella Camp, the Mandavu Dam is a wonderful location for both bird watching and game viewing. Take a leisurely morning drive to the dam before joining a variety of wildlife for a picturesque picnic brunch at the water’s edge.
