Etosha National Park
The Mushara Outpost is situated a mere 10 kilometers from the Von Lindequist gate of the world famous Etosha National Park.
The Etosha National Park is one of Southern Africa's finest and most important game reserves, which was declared a National Park in 1907. The park covers is home to 114 mammal species, over 350 bird species, 110 reptile species, 16 amphibian species and one species of fish.
The lodge is all about old fashioned hospitality with warm, friendly and personalized service. The main lodge is styled on an old farm house, with tall walls, a corrugated iron roof and a large wrap around veranda.
Guided game drives into Etosha can be arranged, where guests can experience a fascinating perspective of wildlife in Etosha, or otherwise guests can drive themselves into the Park.
The Mushara Outpost accommodates 16 guest in custom made tent like structures, of wood and canvas which are nestled on the banks of an ancient dry river bed known to the locals as an "omaramba".
Each en-suite tent is set on a wooden deck, a meter and a half above the ground, giving a different perspective of the bush. A large glass sliding door leads into the tent, and large glass windows from ceiling to floor allow for plenty of air movement during night. For the very warm afternoons, air conditioning adds an extra level of comfort. The furnishing of the tent is minimal, comfortable and has a light feel to it.
Whether you enjoy the privacy of your veranda or the comfort of your tent, the tranquility of the bush is ever present.
