Mooiplaas Guest House

Mooiplaas Guest House is a luxurious four-star guest house in Oudtshoorn – situated on our family run working ostrich farm, in the heart of the Klein Karoo.

Here you can enjoy the open spaces of the ostrich farm and the spectacular views of the magnificent and ever-changing purple Swartberg mountains.

If you wish to relax, this is the place to get away from it all. If you are looking for sport and adventure, stay with us and enjoy the large variety of attractions and activities in the Klein Karoo area.

Mooiplaas Guest House is situated on Mooiplaas farm in the heart of the Klein Karoo, 10 km outside Oudtshoorn. The guest house offers you the comforts of home with a breathtaking view.

Sixteen tastefully decorated en-suite rooms with air-conditioning are available.

Activities available are hiking / walking, mountain bikes, bird watching, golf, swimming pool, and tours of their private ostrich farm.

Directions For Drivers

From Cape Town on Route 62:
Depart Cape Town and take the N1 motorway towards Paarl. Passing Paarl you will travel through the Hugenot Tunnel and onto Worscester. In Worcester, connect onto the R60 which will take you through Robertson and Ashton. The road then becomes the Route 62 and you will pass through Montagu, Ladismith and Calitzdorp before arriving in Oudtshoorn.
Just before you reach Oudtshoorn, turn right to Mossel Bay (R328)
Drive 8km, past Safari Ostrich Show Farm. Over the Olifants River Bridge, up a hill and turn right to Mooiplaas Guest House (signposted on the left)
Drive 1.6km and Mooiplaas Guest House will be on your left.

From George / Knysna / Port Elizabeth:
Drive along the N2 motorway, travelling directly through George. Continue over the Outeniqua Pass and into Oudtshoorn. Turn left at the first traffic light, getting onto the R62.
Turn left again onto the R328 travelling towards Mossel Bay. After 8km you will turn right to Volmoed. Mooiplaas is located 1,6 on the left.

From Oudtshoorn centre:
Take Voortrekker Road (R62) west in the direction of Cape Town / Calitzdorp. just at the outskirts of Oudtshoorn, you will turn left onto the R328 travelling towards Mossel Bay. After 8km you will turn right to Volmoed. Mooiplaas is located 1,6 on the left.
