Lake Manyara
Set in beautiful forests close to the shores of Lake Manyara and situated only 5 minutes away from the entrance to the Lake Manyara National Park, Migunga Forest Camp is a friendly camp situated in a tranquil forest glade.
Wake up in the morning with the beams of the sun finding their way through the trees. In the afternoon you can enjoy a mountain bike ride trail, or a walk beside Lake Manyara, or a cultural village tour, or even a micro light flight across the Rift Valley. The evenings resonate with the typical sounds of forest creatures.
The Lake Manyara National Park is renowned for its excellent bird-watching opportunities, and more than 400 different bird species have been recorded. Other wildlife includes elephant, buffalo, cheetah, hippo, Maasai giraffe, wildebeest, impala, zebra, warthogs, and large troops of baboons, and the legendary but rarely seen tree-climbing lions.
As well as the lake, there are waterfalls, jungle-like groundwater forests, acacia trees, grasslands and swamps, all which make for a very pretty backdrop for your game and bird watching.
Migunga Forest camp offers 21 tents on raised platforms, all tastefully and simply furnished, and with a large attached bathroom set underneath a canopy of acacia trees. The tents each have their own private veranda as well.
The main camp has a central bar and dining area, and the camp fire is the ideal place in the evening to enjoy a drink before or after dinner.
