Masai Mara
The distinctly unique Mara Engai is nestled amongst pristine forest on the Oloololo (Siria) Escarpment overlooking the amazing Masai Mara National Reserve. With around 120 km of unbroken views across the vast savannah of the Masai Mara, it is simply breathtaking.
The lodge is in the Mara Triangle, which forms the north-western part of the Masai Mara Reserve. Divided from the rest of the reserve by the Mara River, the Mara Triangle is less visited and less crowded, often with many more game animals grazing on the plains and between the volcanic hills that distinguish this corner of the Mara.
All members of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) are found in the Masai Mara. The plains located below Mara Engai are some of the best for game viewing, in particular lions. Game drives from the lodge are in specially adapted vehicles, with exceptionally highly trained and experienced guides meaning you will be sure to see the very best game that the Mara Triangle and Masai Mara have to offer. Game drives are scheduled twice a day but there is also flexibility during the peak Migration period to stay out all day so you are sure to catch nature's 'Greatest Show on Earth'.
Accommodation consists of 20 large tented suites, which are spaced over a large area, providing seclusion and privacy. En-suite facilities include twin basins and invigorating waterfall showers. All tents have private viewing decks, and some tents overlook the Mara Plains and others are nestled in the ravine forest.
