Hwange National Park
Linkwasha is a luxurious camp that lies in a private concession on the south-eastern corner of the famed Ngamo Plains in Hwange National Park. The camp looks out over a magnificent plain and a pan that is a magnet for game year round, especially in the dry winter months.
As the camp has access to 2 private concessions, the game viewing at Linkwasha is particularly impressive, with game drives (morning and evening) in open 4x4 safari vehicles and walking safaris offering you the best chance to see all that Hwange has to offer. Wildlife frequently encountered in the area includes lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, spotted hyaena, giraffe, sable, blue wildebeest, impala, waterbuck and reedbuck. In the summer, wildebeest, zebra and eland are found in large numbers, whilst in the winter, elephant congregate in enormous numbers around the numerous waterholes.
In addition, the birdlife in the area is very prolific, with over 400 different species being recorded.
Guests can also enjoy cultural visits, which include a tour of the local village and school and meeting the prominent and respected headman or headwoman.
The camp is an eclectic mix of contemporary interiors and Ndebele culture, consisting of 8 magnificent en-suite tents and one family unit, all offering incredible views of the scenic plains.
The main area at Linkwasha includes various multi-level decks all with views of the waterhole. There is also a cosy library with a fireplace and shaded salas which surround an inviting swimming pool.
