Le Sakoa

Le Sakoa is a small, intimate family hotel with direct access to the renowned white sandy beach of Trou aux Biches, one of the most beautiful lagoons of Mauritius. 

The swimming here is some of the best on the island, and all year round, you can enjoy safe snorkelling and discover the rich underwater life in the lagoon and along the coral reef.  Other activites include taking a trip on a glass bottom boat across the lagoon, or trying your hand at a spot of water skiing or wakeboarding, or for the more adventurous, underwater walking is carried out with a helmet providing oxygen supply, and with a lead belt. Big game fishing is a popular activity between November and April.

The hotel features 14 standard rooms, housed in 7 single-storey bungalows. Six of the standard rooms have views of the sea, whilst the other 8 looking out onto the gardens. All rooms are en-suite, spacious and comfortable, and each has its own terrace.

There are also 2 suites, including a romantic honeymoon suite, each with direct access to the beach and views of the breathtaking sunsets. The Senior Beach Suite also has a mezzanine which can accommodate 2 beds for children.

The restaurant is next to the swimming pool, and has delightful views out to sea. The a la carte menu offers guests a wide choice and a set menu is also often available. The bar serves a wide variety of cocktails, as well as wines, spirits and fruit juices, and is particularly delightful at sunset.

The hotel is approximately 75 minutes from the main airport; 20 minutes from the capital Port Louis, or 5 minutes from the bustling town of Grand Bay.

All rooms are also air conditioned and equipped with a hairdryer, safe, television and telephone, as well as a kitchenette. Interconnecting rooms are also available.

Sakoa is 20 minutes from Port Louis by car, 5 minutes from Grand Baie and 75 minutes from the airport.
