Just 10 minutes from Entebbe International Airport, Karibu Entebbe is a boutique guest house set in a former presidential residence on the leafy hillside of Entebbe. It is a peaceful, tranquil place to relax when you first arrive into Uganda.
The hillside location and mature gardens are frequently visited by over 30 species of birdlife - from miniscule Fire Finches to the resident Palm Nut Vulture.
Entebbe itself is located on a small peninsular in Lake Victoria around 40 km from the capital city of Uganda - Kampala. All major international flights come through Entebbe Airport, however there plenty to do here if you have some spare time.
Just 5 minutes from Karibu, the Botanical Gardens were established in 1898 and are home to over 300 varieties of exotic plant species as well as an abundance of birdlife, black and white Colobus and vervet monkeys. The rainforest zone in the gardens was used as a backdrop during the filming of the original Tarzan film in 1940.
The Ngamba Island Chimpanzee sanctuary was founded by the Jane Goodall Institute in 1998 and this 100 acre island is now a refuge for over 40 rescued chimpanzees, or just one hour from Entebbe are the Mbamba swamps, a fantastic habitat to spot the rare shoebill in the wild.
Or simply relax and cruise out onto Lake Victoria to watch the beautiful colours created by the sun as it sets on the horizon. This is also a great opportunity to see some amazing bird life on the waters edge.
The 8 unique and individually designed rooms are spread over the original homestead and an extension in the tropical gardens. Rooms in the main house enjoy superb sunsets over Lake Victoria, whilst the rooms in the garden open the door to exotic plants and bird life.

Karibu Guest House is just 10 minutes from Entebbe International Airport and is set on the grounds of a former Presidential Residence.
The 8 rooms are spread over the original homestead with an extension in the tropical gardens. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom with high pressure shower, air-conditioning, kingsize beds, tea/coffee making facilities, drinking water, and free Wi-Fi.
The Angama Cottage can sleep from 1-4 people and has air-conditioned double rooms joined by a lounge and dining area.
There is a swimming pool, and spa/massage facilities available.
The Breakfast Menu is served from 05:00 and all dishes are accompanied by a selection of seasonal fruits, a freshly blended fruit juice as well as tea or freshly ground Ugandan coffee. The menu includes a range of items from overnight oats, to banana pancakes, to poached eggs on fresh avocado, to the traditional Full English breakfast - there is something for everyone’s taste. If you are leaving before 05:00 there is an Express Breakfast of fruit, muesli, pancakes, juice, tea and coffee.
The Lunch menu is available through-out the day and available to order on an a-la-carte basis and each evening Karibu serves a fresh and tasty 4 course set-menu - both at an additional cost.
