Mana Pools
John's Camp is a semi-permanent tented camp situated within Mana Pools on the bank of the Zambezi River. Nestled amongst a canopy of trees, it is a true natural wilderness.
Home to 4 of the Big 5 (there are no rhino here), Mana Pools is situated in the heart of a natural valley on a unique flood plain that is rich and diverse in flora, fauna and wildlife. Meet huge African Bull elephants on game drives, dine amidst herds of buffalo, gaze upon prides of lion, enjoy sundowners with hippos on the banks of the Zambezi River and bird watch over 400 species of birds.
Morning and afternoon daily game drives are conducted in open Toyota Land Cruisers, with an overhead shade for comfort and protection against the African sun. Guests can also enjoy a walking safari, lead by professional, armed and licensed guides who are passionate and knowledgeable. Being a small camp, with a maximum of just 12 guests, means that the excellent guiding team can tailor your safari to suit you, providing a highly personalised experience.
The camp comprises of just 6 twin or double en-suite Meru style tents, a common dining area, a campfire for evenings under the stars, and a star gazing sleep-out platform for the more adventurous safari traveller. The safari tents are all generously spaced out along the floodplain adjacent to the river. Each tent has en-suite bathroom facilities with a flush toilet and overhanging safari-style bucket showers.
John's Camp is open from the beginning of May to mid November.
