Located a mere 29 km south east of Windhoek, and situated on a hilltop overlooking a spectacular landscape, GocheGanas offers a unique combination of wildlife, nature and wellness experiences.
With 21 different wildlife species on the 6,000 hectares at GocheGanas, game drives remain a very popular activity. Game drives are undertaken early morning and late afternoon and includes a stop halfway where guests are served snacks and drinks. The qualified guide assists with sharing information on fauna, flora and interesting bird species.
Complimenting and enhancing the lodge is the Wellness Village, which boasts a top of the range selection of wellness treatments, products and services.
Facilities include 11 treatment rooms with state of the art equipment such as a crystal bath, hydrotherapy bath, and a vichy shower, as well as a heated indoor pool, a cave sauna in a cathedral like masonry vault, and a well-equipped fitness gym. The architecture and decor of all buildings at GocheGanas incorporates local arts and crafts in celebration of the culture of Namibia.
The lodge has 15 chalets under thatched roof with uninterrupted and spectacular views over the surrounding reserve, plus one family suite.
All the rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, television and DVD/CD system, mini bar, and a telephone.
General Information For Guests
The rooms are all en-suite and have a private timber deck. They are equipped with equipped with air-conditioning, television, minibar, coffee corner and telephone. Some rooms have outdoor showers.
The Family Suite consists of two separate double bedrooms connected by a spacious terrace. These bedrooms each have their own en-suite bathroom. The rooms are equipped with an air-conditioner, television, minibar, coffee corner and telephone.
The main guest area consists of a restaurant, bar and outdoor swimming pool. Barbeques around an open fire in the boma can be arranged on request.
The spa has several treatment rooms, a heated indoor swimming pool and fitness/gym facilities. The lodge requests that children under the age of 12 do not enter the spa or use the spa facilities inclhidng the indoor swimming pool.
The Nature Reserve covers 6,000 hectares and is home to 25 different game species and a large variety of birds. The wildlife includes steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, red hartebeest, wildebeest (blue), eland, Burchell zebra (protected mammal in Namibia), springbok, oryx (gemsbok), kudu, giraffe, waterbuck, warthog, Hartmann’s mountain zebra (endemic, one of Namibia’s conserved mammals), square-lipped (white) rhinoceros (second largest land mammal), cheetah, leopard and black wildebeest. Amongst the small species you can spot honey badger, african wild cat, bat-eared fox, black-backed jackal, yellow mongoose, banded mongoose, suricate (meerkat), and ground squirrel. The primate Chacma Baboon occurs in large troops.
Activities available include game drives, guided nature walks and mountain biking (additional cost).
