The Serengeti
Nestling within the Northern Serengeti Plains, this mobile seasonal camp, which is only open from 1st June until the end of November, allows guests to be right 'there' and in the thick of the action during the time when the Great Migration is in this area.
Each year, literally thousands upon thousands of wildebeest, zebra and gazelles trek across the vast Serengeti plains towards Kenya's Masai Mara, in search of new grazing grass. It is estimated that just over 2 million animals in total make this migration from one country to another and back again - a round journey of just under 2,000 miles.
Daily game drives take you out into the African bush, where you can marvel at the sheer number of animals stretching out across the vast plains, all keeping a wary eye out for predators, who lie in wait to stalk the young or the tired. As well as witnessing this wildlife phenomenon, guests also get the chance to explore the more remote but beautiful corners of the Serengeti, which is also home to excellent resident game. Either way, you will return back to camp for your evening dinner totally enthralled by the wildlife spectacles you have just witnessed.
Bologonya Under Canvas is intimate and exclusive, offering just 10 spacious safari tents, each with a double or twin beds, en-suite bathroom, separate portable WC and a bucket shower. Lighting is supplied by solar power. The main guests areas consist of a lounge area and a mess tent, for cosy indoor dining, but dinners out under the starry sky also form part of your dining experience.
