I think it is fair to assume that for the majority of people, 2021 has not started as well as many would have hoped. I am not sure whether we all secretly hoped that as the clock struck midnight on the 31 December 2020, there would suddenly be a miraculous end to Covid-19 and the world would have returned to normal when we all awoke on New Years Day – but we now find ourselves at the end of February, having endured two more months of lockdown – well, certainly here in the UK anyway.
But nothing lasts forever. Vaccinations are being rolled out across the globe at an increasing pace, and following the Government’s announcement on Monday it now looks as though international travel from the UK might resume from 17th May. There is finally a glimmer of light at the end of what has been a very long tunnel!
After so long stuck at home, we are all keen to get out and explore the world again. We would really hope that come later this year the travel restrictions to most African countries will be lifted, but we are also seeing some people preferring to err on the side of caution and look to 2022 for their trip instead.
We are already taking many bookings for travel in 2022, and because of pent up demand some properties are already looking very full with confirmed bookings. If you are wanting to go on a safari holiday in 2022, then now is a good time to start planning it to ensure you have the best choice of hotels and lodges.
The options are endless: head to East Africa to see the Great Migration; track the Big 5 through the African bush in one of South Africa’s many game reserves; soak up the atmosphere in Cape Town and see whales in Hermanus; go on a walking safari in Zambia or a mokoro trip in Botswana’s Okavango Delta; trek gorillas in Uganda or Rwanda. After your safari adventure, why not head to the coast and relax on a white sand beach next to the warm Indian Ocean to round off the perfect safari and beach holiday. Whatever is on your dream holiday list, Africa can deliver the goods.
Your friendly team at Travel Butlers are waiting to hear from you and help you plan your safari holiday – wherever and whatever it is you want to do.
