Impressions of KwaZulu-Natal

Summary Of The Route and Costs

A magical mixture of peaceful mountainsides, cosmopolitan coastal resorts, historical insights and show-stopping safaris, this 11 night itinerary will leave impressions that last a lifetime. You’ll stay in battlefield lodges and safari suites as well as boutique mountain and beach hideaways.

You’ll begin your holiday in 5* luxury within walking distance of the beach before tracking the Big 5 through the lush landscape of Mkuze Falls. The Mkuze Falls Lodge is located along the northern bank of the Mkuze River. Your room has a breathtaking view of the river, bush and mountains.  Private plunge-pools and an outside shower provide a wild but intimate touch alongside the gratifying luxury of the air-conditioned bedroom.

Then, you’ll head for the Battlefields, where you’ll be brought up to speed about the historical bloodshed that took place on this beautiful land. Led by the finest guides in South Africa, thought-provoking and often emotionally charged tours are conducted daily to Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift.

Finally, you’ll roam the ridges and valleys of the Drakensberg Mountains and feel deliciously dwarfed by the staggering scenery. Montusi Mountain Lodge offers a full and uninterrupted view of the Drakensberg's most famous part, the Amphitheatre escarpment, and guests can enjoy this spectacular scenery from the comfort of their private individual garden suites.
