Guests of SALT can also join the local suppliers and see their work or passion, whether it be pottery, early morning fishing or basket weaving. Teach whatever you can teach, learn all you can and share your passion. It’s all horizon broadening.

Let the chef teach you how to prepare fish vindaye and chicken curry. You’ll have a recipe or 2 to amaze your friends with.  Master the maravanne rattle and moutia drum. Get out into the farm and see how locals grow, maintain, and harvest the sustainable way. It’s different every day with the aim of taking home more than a tan.

The hotel has 59 rooms that face the beach, swimming pool or gardens. All are designed to help you recharge and unwind, each of the rooms have a rain shower and a yoga mat.

The restaurant offers unique culinary experiences from fresh pastries straight from the oven, to the restaurant using simple, ancient cooking methods to produce a variety of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Mauritian dishes.

With beautiful ocean views, a bit of music and a well deserved drink, all 3 of the bars at SALT are the place to be. There is a roof top bar, one on the beach and by the pool. Life doesn’t get more easy-going than this.

All rooms feature King size beds, a hairdryer, bath amenities, high speed Wi-Fi access, USB ports for charging, international plug points, tea/coffee making facilities, in-room safe, air conditioning, beach bags and a Roberts radio. One of the rooms is wheelchair accessible.

The hotel has a restaurant, 3 bars, a spa, fitness studio, library, shop and a swimming pool.

The hotel has its own farm which supplies the restaurant and is 5 minutes away.

The spa has 4 treatment rooms and offers a variety of different treatments and massages (additional cost).

Activities that are available at SALT of Palmar include kayaking, waterskiing, snorkeling, yoga, volleyball/ soccer on the beach and cardio workouts in the pools aqua gym.

Skill swap programs that will incur an additional cost include drawing, ceramics, rattan weaving and making soap.

Guests have access to the fitness studio which has a range of cardio, strength and functional fitness machines.
